1. Site a specific example wherein using IT( information technology) in teaching becomes a liability.
Apparently, it is very hard to figure out how information technology could be a liability in the educational system since we are living in the age of technology, and information technology becomes more and more indespensable in the process of education. However, if we will try to take a closer look and make an objective comparison between classical and the modern way (technology based) of teaching, one can discover the level of standard and efficiency of the former proves to be far better than the latter. One concrete example to this, in the classical way of learning, whenever a professor would ask students to do a research, many of the students were forced to go to the library and look the materials for research through the library index and catalogue cards, which subsequently gave the students the chance to read thoroughly the materials. On the contrary, in our modern age, with the use of information technology in teaching, students prefered to do their research through the internet, and most of the materials downloaded from the internet could hardly be identified as authentic. Since any person can have access to it, the tendency is, anybody can claim others’ work as his/her own, or at worst, one could easily commit a literary crime of plagiarism. However, although electronic sources are allowed as a way of gathering informations, nevertheless library materials are still considered to be the conventional way in acquiring knowledge. This would only puport that information technology has its own limits in research likewise in teaching.
2. How will blog or using blog becomes a hindrance in learning.
While “blogging” has become a fads in today’s internet arena, it can also be a hindrance in learning process. I would like to cite three hindrances of blogging in learning: first, the nature of blog in the website is that anybody can write something without claiming personal responsibility on what they have written (anonymous). No dialogue is going on. ” Secondly, anybody could write anything according to their own whims and caprices, regardless whether it makes sense or not, regardless of any sense of value. Lastly, words written on the blog section could either be misquoted and be misunderstood.
3. What is the impact of IT ( internet technology) in education. How important is it?
The computer now is one of the richest sources of education. Using a computer and the Internet, one can obtain information about almost anything thinkable. Children will also be able to complete homework on line. Communication between teacher and students happens in a split of a second either through yahoo messenger or email.
